Bart Cummings Hoping To Celebrate This Weekend on @7Sport @Channel7

SportKevin Perry

Legendary trainer Bart Cummings will be looking to celebrate his birthday week, with Precedence set to take to the track for the 2400m Zipping Classic after his narrow win on protest in the Queen Elizabeth.

Another win for Precedence here will go some way to atoning for Bart’s disappointment at not having a runner in the Melbourne Cup.

In the final outing of the year for Seven’s Saturday Arvo Racing, Melbourne Cup winning trainer Gai Waterhouse has one of the favourites Equator in the 1600m Sandown Guineas feature race at Caulfield.

Star young colt Apollo’s Choice will step up to group level for the first time. He’ll face stiff competition from Anthony Cummings-trained Best Case aiming for its maiden win at group level amid a field of classy three year olds.

With the Sandown track being redeveloped, the Sandown meet has been switched to Caulfield. The broadcast will also feature the Girls Day Out meet from Rosehill Gardens.

Live coverage starts nationally at 2pm AEDT on 7TWO, hosted by Jason Richardson with expert Simon Marshall.
