Homeland is saying goodbye to two of its original cast members.
On the eve of the Season 3 finale airing in the US on Showtime and fast-tracked in Australia on Ten , TVLine is reporting that original cast members Morena Baccarin and Morgan Saylor will not be back as series regulars in Season 4.
The news will please many with Morgan Saylor's character of Dana being one of the most complained about and hated people in Television.
The move hardly comes as a surprise, as Baccarin’s Jessica and Saylor’s Dana appeared less frequently as Season 3 went on and Brody’s shattered home life became less of a focus. (The former’s real-life pregnancy also likely contributed to Jessica’s disappearance during the second half of the season.)
According to sources, the door is open for both actresses to return on a guest-star basis, the same way ex-full-timer Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) did this season.
Reps for Showtime and 20th Century Fox declined to comment.
The Homeland Season 3 Finale airs 8:30 pm tonight on Ten or catchup on Tenplay
