More Than 2 Million Viewers Tune Into The #Ashes 2nd Test Day 1

A peak audience of more than two million people tuned into Nine’s coverage of the first day of play of the Second Test between Australia and England at Adelaide Oval.

Nine’s coverage of Day 1 attracted a National (5 City Metro + Regional) peak audience of more than 2.070 million and an average audience of 1.486 million with Total People (5 City Metro + Regional).

The Ashes: Second Test Australia V England easily dominated its timeslot across all key demographics; People 25-54, 18-49, 16-39 and Total People.

The Ashes: Second Test Australia V England Session 3 achieved an enormous peak audience of 1.303 million and averaged 951,000 viewers across the 5 City Metro.

Compared to Session 3 of First Test, the audience for Session 3 of the Second Test grew 25%.

Due to rain delays play continued to 6.40pm AEDST last night.

Cricket Australia Live - The Official App proved incredibly popular. It has recorded more than 2.9 million visits. 397,000 users have downloaded the App, allowing fans to view match stats and figures, watch video highlights, or stream the Channel Nine coverage live. App users are spending around 7 minutes per visit.

With more than 27,200 #Ashes tweets for the first day of play of the Second Test, #Ashes tweets dominated Australian Social Trends yesterday, peaking with 445 tweets per minute during session 1 of play. More than 212,000 #Ashes tweets have been tweeted so far throughout the Series.
