Fox Sports, has confirmed former Socceroo John Aloisi will join its Football team ahead of what is set to be a spectacular year for the round-ball game.

Aloisi, who has mixed it with the best players in the world on the game’s biggest stage, joins Fox Sports for the upcoming 2014/15 Hyundai A-League season, kicking off on Friday, October 10 - and the 2015 AFC Asian Cup in January.

For more than a decade, Aloisi was an integral member of the Socceroos, playing in 55 games and scoring THAT winning penalty goal for Australia over Uruguay to seal the Socceroos’ historic berth in the 2006 FIFA World Cup – a moment etched in Australia’s sporting history.

Fox Sports CEO, Patrick Delany, said: “John is one of Australia’s living legends of the game and in this 10th year of the A-League it is wonderful that he should join our star-studded team of experts.
“Our philosophy at Fox Sports is to bring fans their favourite sports through the eyes of experts that have been on the field - John certainly fits that bill.
“John is one of our most highly-regarded Socceroos and adds a wealth of playing experience and fresh insights around our LIVE coverage,” he concluded.
John Aloisi said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Fox Sports team ahead of the 10 year anniversary of the Hyundai A-League and for what is guaranteed to be a huge season of Football.
“The team at Fox Sports are the best in the business; I couldn’t pick a better line-up to be joining each week. Not only have we got the 10th A-League season, but the Asian Cup coming to Australia in January to look forward to as well - I can’t wait.”
