Former model and TV personality Charlotte Dawson has been found dead today in her Sydney home.
N.S.W Police have confirmed they were called to Wooloomooloo wharf at 11.18am. Police have described the death as non suspicious. Her body was discovered by a building security guard.
Dawson had been hospitalised at least twice in the past after suicide attempts, and had a long history of depression. In 2012 she launched a controversial campaign to stop cyber bullying after being targeted by online hate groups.
In 2013 Dawson surprised her Foxtel employers by publicly announcing that she was retiring from the media spotlight.
While best known for her judging role on Australia's Next Top Model, Dawson's modeling and media career spanned for more than three decades both in Australia and her birthplace of New Zealand.
Dawson's media credits include being fashion editor for Woman's Day and New Idea, regular appearances on The Today Show and Beauty and the Beast, plus a slew of reality programming for Foxtel. As we all come to terms with the passing of Charlotte Dawson, Lifeline is there for your support 24/7 on 13 11 14 or http://lifeline.com.au
