Seven’s Saturday Arvo Racing jumps out at Caulfield

Seven’s Live coverage of Australia’s major horse races starts this Saturday from Caulfield Racecourse with Orr Stakes day on 7TWO from 1pm AEDT

The Caulfield meeting will start earlier due to the extreme heat forecast in Melbourne, so 7TWO’s coverage will now start an hour earlier than originally planned.

The Danny O’Brien-trained Shamus Award will be aiming to emulate his Cox Plate heroics in the Group 1, $400,000 feature race, the Orr Stakes.

The two standout Blue Diamond favourites, Earthquake and Rubick, will be starting in the Blue Diamond Preludes. The Darley horse, Earthquake, heads up the fillies division, while the Gerald Ryan-trained Rubick will start favourite in the colts and geldings race.

7TWO’s coverage will also feature races from Royal Randwick, with star Epsom and Emirates Stakes winner Boban resuming alongside Rain Affair and multiple Group 1 winning mare Appearance.

Nelune Foundation Expressway Stakes is the feature race from Randwick with Seven AFL commentator Leigh Matthews-owned Sizzling having his first start for trainer Chris Waller. And Carlton House, owned by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, will also be a starter.

Throughout the year Seven will broadcast the Melbourne Cup Carnival, BMW Sydney Racing Carnival including the Golden Slipper, and the Spring Racing Carnival including the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate in Melbourne.
