
Giro d’Italia
SBS will broadcast all stages of the Giro d’Italia, the first of cycling’s three Grand Tours, LIVE for the very first time from 9 May to 1 June on SBS ONE and online at www.sbs.com.au/CyclingCentral. SBS will also show daily highlights of the iconic cycling race.
The 2014 Giro d’Italia is shaping as one of the year’s most anticipated cycling race, with Australia’s Cadel Evans setting his sights on the coveted Maglia Rosa. After finishing third in the 2013 edition of the race, Evans will be looking to add a victory at the Giro d’Italia to his 2011 Tour de France crown.
Known for its spectacular mountain stages, the 2014 edition of the race will begin in Belfast, Northern Ireland on 9 May before heading to the Irish capital Dublin on Stage 3 and then on to Italy, where the race will conclude in Trieste.

It’s been our long term goal to expand our coverage of the Giro d’Italia and with Cadel targeting a win, it made more sense than ever to broadcast the whole event live as an ideal appetiser for the Tour de France in July.”
SBS’s coverage will be hosted by award-winning cycling journalist Michael Tomalaris with former Giro d’Italia stage winner David McKenzie and former professional cyclist Henk Vogels. Commentary will be provided by Matt Keenan and David McKenzie.
The Giro d’Italia is live from 11pm weeknights and 10:45pm weekends from 9 May to 1 June on SBS ONE and online atwww.sbs.com.au/CyclingCentral, with highlights at 5:30pm every night from 10 May to 2 June on SBS ONE.
