Shamus Award and Dissident to battle for Guineas on Seven

Randwick Guineas winner Dissident takes on Australian Guineas winner Shamus Award for the prestigious Group 1 Rosehill Guineas on Seven’s Saturday Arvo Racing. 
New Zealand Derby winner Puccini has made the trek to Rosehill and will also start as one of the favourites in the Guineas on day two of the Sydney autumn carnival. 
The second Group 1 race is the $1 million George Ryder Stakes with spring star and 
Chipping Norton Stakes winner Boban taking on the gun sprinting mare Red Tracer. The 
race has two x-factors with star three-year-olds Eurozone and El Roca electing to race 
against the older horses. 
Irish import Gordon Lord Byron makes his Australian debut in the George Ryder Stakes as 
he heads towards the Championship races, most likely the T.J. Smith Stakes. 
The final Group 1 on the program, the Galaxy, showcases our best sprinters heading towards 
the T.J. Smith stakes in a fortnight. The form line comes from the Challenge Stakes at 
Randwick where Villa Verde defeated Snitzerland, Famous Seamus and Bel Sprinter. 
7TWO’s coverage will feature an interview with Tom Hogan, trainer of Gordon Lord Byron, as 
well as a sneak peek at the 10 new Championship trophies up for grabs and a chat with 
emerging jockey Damian Lane. 
Races will also come from Moonee Valley throughout the day. 
Throughout the year Seven will broadcast the Melbourne Cup Carnival; Sydney Racing 
Carnival including the Golden Slipper; the Spring Racing Carnival including the Caulfield Cup 
and Cox Plate in Melbourne; and The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival’s Stradbroke
