Sources within the Nine Network have confirmed to this website that Ben Fordham will join the cast of 60 Minutes in 2015.

Fordham recently announced he would depart his current gig on The Today Show at the end of this year to focus on his 2GB radio show. However it is understood Nine is very keen to keep the well-regarded Fordham at the network and is negotiating with the Sydney radio station to allow Fordham to film a minimum of 6 stories for 60 Minutes in 2015.

Before his time on Today, Fordham was the lead reporter on A Current Affair and also spent time working for Nine News including the Parliament House bureau. He has long been considered the natural replacement for Karl Stefanovic on Today.

The Today Show cast have a strong association with 60 Minutes, Karl Stefanovic regularly presents stories for show and recently newsreader Georgie Gardner also filed a report on Spinal victim John Maclean and his determination to walk again
