Its been a big hit in the AFL states, now NRL viewers get their chance to Press Red.
In what’s anticipated to be the defining moment of their careers, former NRL stars Bryan ‘Fletch’ Fletcher and Nathan ‘Hindy’ Hindmarsh will call their first NRL game this Saturday when the Roosters take on the Knights.
The FOX SPORTS’ duo will take leave from their Nepal Donkeys’ coaching duties to try their hand at commentating, offering Roosters’ and Knights’ fans a ‘different’ take on the game.
Viewers will be able to hear Fletch and Hindy’s play-by-play call by pressing Red on their Foxtel remote during the game broadcast.
Fletch and Hindy will go head-to-head with the voice of NRL on FOX SPORTS, Warren Smith, and renowned commentator, Greg Alexander, who will call the game on FOX SPORTS 1HD and FOX SPORTS 1.
Commenting on the announcement, Hindy said that this could be his greatest achievement: “Every minute of Rugby League I have ever played has been working towards this moment.”
While for Fletch, he knew it was only a matter of time until he was elevated to chief caller: “When I signed with FOX SPORTS they told me it was to take over from Wazza (Warren Smith), so it’s not really a surprise to me.
“I’ll be the main caller on Saturday, they won’t let old fumbles Hindmarsh call the
play-by-play. I’ll let him say something, occasionally, if I need to cough or go to the toilet,” Fletch said.
Viewers will be able to watch Fletch and Hindy’s commentary debut on Saturday
night (June 14) when Fletch’s former team, the Roosters, host the Knights at Allianz Stadium.
Fans can have their say on who is the better caller by tweeting @bryfletch or @NathanHiney with the hashtag #PressRed
Fletch and Hindy are the head coaches of the Nepal Donkeys, a Rugby League team vying to join the NRL in 2024. Click here to catch all the latest on the Donkeys and follow them at @TheNepalDonkeys
