The key principal of Pay Television normally is that you have to pay to watch it, however for the next few weeks Foxtel is bending rules as part of special promotion leading into the launch of new HD drama channel BBC First on Sunday August the 3rd.
In a unique promotion Foxtel has posted the full first episodes of acclaimed drama’s The Musketeers and Peaky Blinders to YouTube. Both episodes are available to view in 1080p and are embedded below.
A spokesperson for Foxtel told Nelbie,
“We want to give viewers a chance to sample some of the fantastic series which will be on BBC First when it launches on August 3, as such Foxtel and BBC First have made the first full episodes available free on You Tube until August 10.”
From August, BBC First on Foxtel will be the new home of premium British drama and comedy in Australia, showcasing the best award-winning, world-renowned programmes and talent in one place for the very first time.
BBC First offers Australian viewers the chance to see British drama singles and short series that would not otherwise make it to our networks, such as Playhouse Presents – a star-studded collection of contemporary one-offs featuring leading talent both on and off the screen. In addition, none of the programmes on BBC First will be available on terrestrial television for at least 12 months.
