The Australian Rugby Union has released the official season draw for the Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC) beginning on Thursday 21 August, 2014.

Fox Sports is the Exclusive broadcaster of the NRC and will deliver Live coverage of one match from each round of the competition in a dedicated Thursday night timeslot.

The NRC ‘Match of the Round’ will be broadcast Live each Thursday night at 7.30pm EST, part of a triple-treat for rugby fans.

Starting August 21, Thursday night rugby coverage on Fox Sports will kick off with a Live ITM Cup clash from New Zealand at 5.30pm EST, followed by the NRC Match of the Round at 7.30pm EST and weekly entertainment show Rugby HQ at 9.30pm EST.

Fox Sports will also deliver Live coverage of both semi-final matches and the inaugural Buildcorp National Rugby Championship Final at the completion of the nine-round regular season.

Fox Sports today confirmed the NRC Match of the Round for the opening five rounds of the competition. The broadcast schedule will allow fans to sample each of the nine newly-formed clubs in action across the first half of the season.

Fox Sports CEO, Patrick Delany, said: “We are proud to showcase some of the best young rugby talent in the country and support this crucial new national competition for Australian Rugby.

“Thursday is rugby night, where rugby fans can settle in to watch the next breed of All Blacks in the ITM Cup, the next wave of Wallabies in the NRC, and the best rugby show in the business with the likes of George Gregan and John Eales on Rugby HQ,” said Delany.

All Fox Sports matches will be hosted by Rugby Correspondent Gerard Middleton with Sean Maloney calling the play-by-play action alongside experts from the Fox Sports rugby commentary team.
