Dendy Direct ready to take on Foxtel and Netflix in the Streaming Movie Business

The Video On Demand space is quickly becoming a crowded market with Dendy Cinema's announcing a new service designed to take on Presto, Quickflix, StreamCo, and the expected arrival of Netflix.

Dendy has confirmed ABC Commercial, Beyond Home Entertainment, Entertainment One Australia, Icon, Madman Entertainment, Pinnacle Films, Roadshow, Transmission, and Umbrella Entertainment are the first distributors to sign distribution deals with their video on demand platform, Dendy Direct.

Dendy Direct says they are close to signing deals with a number of other independent and studio distributors. The service is scheduled to launch on 6th August 2014.

Dendy Direct will be offering customers movies and TV content to rent and own. The service will be available on a broad range of devices including desktop/PC, tablet, mobile (iOSand Android). The service will be available through an exclusive application on Samsung Smart TVs in September and will be launching on Chromecast in Q4. 

The Dendy Direct user experience has been developed with the lover of quality film in mind, with the careful curation of quality content at its core. The bespoke storefront has been designed to facilitate simple navigation and a hassle-free selection process.  Dendy says the service "will deliver a rich and seamless experience to the customer, unlike any other digital platform in the market."
