It’s taken just one episode of Network Ten’s 2014 series of The Bachelor for fans to declare their favourite to win Blake’s heart, with accounting student Jessica.
Ten would be disappointed with the shows much hyped premiere ratings, it achieved just 691,000 Metro Viewers, however it did perform strongly in youth demo's and The Bachelor hashtag was the number 1 most trending topic on Twitter last night.
The Ten Network was number one last night overall for the 4th time in 7 days, the network figure being boosted heavily by big ratings for the Commonwealth Games on OneHD
Jessica’s odds of being Blake’s beauty firmed from the outside odds of $21 into $5 favouritism with bookmakers.
The 24-year-old replaces Anita ($5 out to $9) and Laurina ($5 out to $7) as the punters’ pick after making a big first impression on both the bachelor and viewers of the popular reality show.
“Jessica received one of the first roses and Blake described her as stunning so there appears to be plenty of chemistry there,” Sportingbet’s Andrew Brown said.
“She has plenty of competition to overcome between now and the end of the series but at this stage our punters make her the clear front runner.”
Holly and Alana also attracted strong support following the first episode. Holly’s odds have shortened from $21 into $8 after she received the white rose for making the biggest first impression, while Alana’s odds firmed from $21 into $14.
Laurina remains towards the top of betting at $7 despite denying Blake some one-on-one time on night one.
