From the makers of Frontline and The Hollowmen, Utopia is an eight-part satirical comedy set inside the offices of the ‘Nation Building Authority’, a newly created government organisation responsible for overseeing major infrastructure projects. It follows the working lives and frustrations of the people charged with turning these grand political dreams into reality.
Featuring a stellar comic cast led by Rob Sitch, along with Celia Pacquola, Dave Lawson, Luke McGregor, Kitty Flanagan, Anthony 'Lehmo' Lehmann, Emma-Louise Wilson, Michelle Lim Davidson and Toby Truslove, Utopia is a series for anyone who has ever been frustrated by bureaucracy - and survived to laugh at the experience.
From new roads and rail lines to airports and high-rise urban developments, Utopia examines the forces that go into creating a very well-designed white elephant.
In tonights episode, Tony's (Rob Sitch) attempts to sign a massive international development deal are compromised by Rhonda's (Kitty Flanagan) decision to redesign the NBA's logo. Meanwhile, a mix-up from Jim (Anthony 'Lehmo' Lehmann) forces Nat (Celia Pacquola) to find room for a community garden within a multi-million dollar waterfront development. Matters are further complicated with the impending arrival of a delegation from China.
