The Nine Network has released a disturbing promo video promoting an upcoming interview with Sydney Siege survivor Selina Win Pe.
During the dramatic interview (view below) with 60 Minutes journalist Liz Hayes, Selina Win Pe reveals how she feared for life.
“I said please don’t shoot me, please don’t shoot me. I only have my mum, please don’t shoot me,”
“He looked me straight in the eyes and said ‘you have 15 minutes’.”
60 Minutes is believed to have interviewed up to 7 of the Lindt Siege hostage victims for an upcoming special edition of the program. Rival Seven Network is understood to also be planning a special with Melissa Doyle interviewing hostage Marcia Mikhael for the Sunday Night program.
It is understood all participants have been paid to tell their story, with some receiving up to $400,000 to appear on Nine or Seven.
A ch9 spokesperson refused to confirm the network had paid for interviews telling this website, ”The Nine Network does not disclose whether any guests on any programs have or have not been paid for their involvement.”
Sources within the Nine Network have suggested the 60 Minutes program could air before the start of official ratings to avoid clashing with other high profile programs including the premiere of I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here, which after significant publicity is expected to be a massive ratings winner for the Ten Network.
