Fresh from it's recent launch on Australia Day. Local SVOD service Stan has announced a new content deal with distributor Roadshow Entertainment, providing customers with exclusive access to more Movies and TV Shows.
Titles include The LEGO Movie and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, the two highest grossing films at the Australian box office in 2014, as well as The Wolf of Wall Street, Edge of Tomorrow, The Inbetweeners 2, A Walk Among the Tombstones, John Wick, The Judge, and Australian films Wolf Creek 2 and Felony.
Best Picture nominee at this year’s Academy Awards® The Imitation Game, along with critically acclaimed comedy St. Vincent and Golden Globe®-winning biopic Big Eyes, will also become available on Stan later in 2015.
Subscribers to Stan will have access to a wide selection of Roadshow’s catalogue titles including The Matrix Trilogy, Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings Trilogy,Sex and the City: The Movie and Sex and the City 2, Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Australian favourites such as Red Dog, Mad Max and The Man from Snowy River will also be available.
The deal adds to Stan’s impressive lineup of films, as licensing agreements with MGM, Studio Canal and SBS World Movies have also been announced, with more to follow in the coming months. Unlike rival service Presto, Stan’s entire library of movies, TV shows and kids programming are all included in its single $10 monthly fee.
“Roadshow had several of the biggest box office successes of 2014 and we’re thrilled to announce our partnership which brings Australia’s biggest subscription video-on-demand window film slate exclusively to Stan,” Mike Sneesby, Stan’s CEO, said.
“As Australia’s largest independent film distributor, Roadshow has a history of bringing incredible films to Australian audiences. We’re proud to add so many of these celebrated and much loved movies to Stan’s lineup.”
A selection of Roadshow’s high-quality TV series will also be available on Stan including the hit series from the UK Utopia, winner of the 2014 International Emmy Award® for Best Drama Series, Australian productions Bikie Wars: Brothers in Arms, the classic series Brides of Christ, and from iconic Australian production company Working Dog the series run of Frontline and The Hollowmen. Popular kids series LazyTown, Dino Dan and Animalia also join the lineup.

Titles will be available to watch instantly, in up to full HD, on multiple platforms including television, tablets, computers and mobile phones.
