4 comedians. 8 states and territories. 1 overly ambitious comedy television series.
Australia, Get It Up Ya! is the latest offering from the team at Stupid Old Studios – featuring comedians and performers Andy Matthews (writer for The Project, Media Circus and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell), Matt Stewart (RAW Comedy winner 2014), Alasdair Tremblay-Birchall (writer for Dirty Laundry, The Project and Shaun Micallef’s Mad as Hell) and Bec Petraitis (The Project, Repost).
Australia, Get It Up Ya! is a ground-breaking show in the travel/political/bush-tucker genre, covering a broad range of cracking locations and Aussie history.
Filmed on location all around Australia, each episode will be a concoction of recurring and standalone segments: some satirical and some downright absurd.
The series is narrated by well-known stand up comedian Claire Hooper (Good News Week, Rove Live, Stand Up Australia)
Partly funded by the Community Broadcasting Foundation and a highly successful Pozible campaign, the team at Stupid Old Studios say this series showcases Australia in a way that has never been seen before.
“The show explores all facets of Australian life from bush poetry to Tasmania’s Hare-Clark system and everything in between – if in fact there is anything in between.”
Australia, Get It Up Ya! will debut on Channel 31 October 26, running for 7 episodes. It will also be available online via Stupid Old Channel.
