Renovation reality television refuses to take a backward step in 2015 with the Nine Network preparing to launch it's new series Reno Rumble as soon as this current season of The Block is complete.
With two seasons of The Block in 2015 plus Reno Rumble, Nine is betting big on the format. Viewers are already showing signs of fatigue with the current season of The Block receiving the worst ratings in the programs history.
Not wanting to be left out, the Seven Network is producing two seasons of its House Rules format. Interestingly Nines Reno Rumble features former contestants from House Rules and will likely air in the same timeslot as the Seven show.
Reno Rumble is promising that TV's best reality renovators will go head-to-head in a supercharged home makeover show like no other.
The eight couples will battle it out in the ultimate knockout competition. Each week will see one couple eliminated. Who will be the last one standing?
In this format, hosted by Scott Cam, the reality renovating couples will be split into two team.
Representing the home team from The Block are:
Josh (29) and Jenna (27), VIC – power couple from The Block 2011 and The Block: All Stars in 2013
Kyal (29) and Kara (27), NSW – the Super K’s from The Block: Fans v Faves in 2014
Michael (32) and Carlene (32), QLD – audience favourites from The Block Glasshouse in 2014
Ayden (31) and Jess (32), QLD – currently starring in The Block Triple Threat
They’ll be going toe-to-toe with the team from the across the tracks - all former contestants on House Rules:
Carly (33) and Leighton (34), NSW - winners of House Rules season one in 2013
Michelle (50) and Steve (50), NSW - runners-up of House Rules season one in 2013
Nick (21) and Chris (26), VIC - brothers from House Rules season one in 2013
Jemma (28) and Ben (29), WA – newlyweds from House Rules season one in 2013
Each week our contestants will hit the road and travel to the suburbs to renovate not one, but two deserving neighbouring houses.
The homeowners are everyday Aussies who will have their dreams turned into reality as the renovators transform their ordinary houses into stunning homes.
Who will reign supreme to collect the $100,000 winner’s cheque, with half going to the winning couple’s favourite charity?
Each home will be judged by interior design experts who have been briefed by the home owners on the style they want for their renovation.
