The competition between reality renovation programming will be taken to a whole new level with the arrival of Reno Rumble and the return of a new season of House Rules when both programs premiere on Tuesday, May 5, at 7.30pm.
In this season of House Rules, six new teams from around Australia are set to embark on a ride of a lifetime, putting their homes on the line and their skills to the test, as they battle it out to become mortgage free.
Together, they’ll travel the country, hand over the keys to their homes and leave their opposition to transform every room in their house in just seven days!
Host Johanna Griggs will be in the thick of the action as these six brave teams gamble with the most important possession in their lives.
Guided by just five House Rules, the teams will each be given a designated zone in the house and they must draw on all their creative talents, determination and strategy to achieve the most stunning reveals.
Without knowing who was responsible for each zone – the home owners will score each transformation. Will they love or loathe what they see?
Scores will be revealed at Homebase, where one by one the teams will be eliminated.
The two teams left standing will face-off in the Grand Final for a chance to win the most coveted prize on Australian TV... their entire mortgage completely paid off!
The six teams vying for the life-changing prize are:
NEW SOUTH WALES / Steve & Tiana
VICTORIA / Bronik & Corrine
QUEENSLAND / Ben & Danielle
SOUTH AUSTRALIA / Ryan & Marlee
WESTERN AUSTRALIA / Karina & Brian
TASMANIA / Cassie & Matt
House Rules surged into the Top 10 regular programs of 2014 with 2.8 million* viewers tuning in to see Victoria’s Adam Dovile and Lisa Lamond crowned champions. Adam now a presenter on Better Homes & Gardens.

Each week contestants will hit the road and travel to the suburbs of Melbourne to renovate not one but TWO neighbouring houses. The homeowners are described as ‘deserving Aussies’ who will have their dreams turned into reality as our superstar renovators transform their ordinary houses into stunning homes.
The finished product will be blind-judged by two of Australia’s leading interior design experts, Darren Palmer and Romy Alwill, who have been briefed by the homeowners. This brief is what the teams will be judged on for elimination immunity and competition survival.
Each team will be given a builder to help them manage their workload and trades.
And there’ll be more room reveals than ever. Teams will have to transform half a house in just two days. The couple who score the most points in the winning house in the midweek reveals will get immunity from elimination at the end of the week when the rest of the house is unveiled.
At the end of each week the couple with the lowest score on the losing team will be eliminated..
The Blue Tongues are seasoned at delivering a complete house in a week, while the home team from The Block have only ever had to do one or two rooms a week.
