The Nine Network has surprised many in the TV industry by confirming it will return Australia’s Got Talent to Australian TV in 2016.

Described as the ‘talent show that celebrates the unique and brilliant from all walks of life’ the program last aired in Australia in to low ratings on Nine in 2014. 


This website understands the new version will air early next year, possibly head to head with juggernaut My Kitchen Rules on Seven and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here on Ten.

The previous version of Australia’s Got Talent on Nine was hosted by Julia Morris, however this wont be repeated with a source closely connected with I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here confirming Morris is already locked in as host for the Ten program in 2016.


Judges for the new version of Australia’s Got Talent will be revealed before Christmas, while contestants are invited to register your interest now at The studio component of Australia’s Got Talent will be based in Melbourne.

While the last version of AGT on Nine failed in the ratings, previous versions on Seven have attracted huge ratings and format remains hugely successful overseas

Nine has also confirmed today that The Voice will return in 2016. After a stellar start to the fourth season, attracting an average national audience of over two million after just six episodes.
