On Wednesday, this website revealed the Seven Networks plans boost its news service by launching local afternoon news services in Melbourne and Brisbane. We can now confirm these bulletins will be presented by Jacqueline Felgate in Melbourne, and Kendall Gilding in Brisbane.
Both women are well known in their respective cities. Felgate, a former political reporter for the Nine Network has been presenting news updates for Seven over the past two years. Gilding is a relatively newcomer to TV however the Gold Coast beauty been generating plenty of publicity in Queensland and recently filled in as a newsreader on Sunrise.
Viewers in Victoria can expect a one hour Melbourne produced bulletin from 4pm Monday, while viewers in Queensland can expect 90 minutes of news produced from Seven’s Brisbane studio. Rival Nine has been broadcasting a local morning and afternoon news service into Queensland since October. The additional investment has seen an increase in audience loyalty for Nine's 6pm bulletin.
Seven will make a formal announcement for the new bulletins in NewsCorp papers this weekend.
