Airdate - A new season of Big Bang Theory arrives on Nine

A brand new series of The Big Bang Theory, will premiere on Tuesday, October 6, at 8.40pm, exclusive to Channel Nine.

Nine is advertising this season as being ‘fast-tracked’, however season nine actually premiered in the US on September 21. The launch attracting 18.2 million viewers, up 3.6 million on the series eight finale.

The premiere of new episodes on Nine coincides with re-runs of the program commencing at their new home on 7Mate. Seven now holds the rights for seasons 1 to 7 and is airing episodes 4 nights per week at 7pm.


Returning are Big Bang favorites Leonard (Johnny Galecki), Sheldon (multi-award winner Jim Parsons), Penny (Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting), Raj (Kunal Nayyar), Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch).
In the first episode, despite complicated relationships in the past Leonard and Penny have finally become engaged, but on their way to Las Vegas to get hitched Leonard slips a secret that could jeopardise everything.
Even Sheldon has found a female companion – entering into a “relationship agreement” with neurobiologist Amy Farrah Fowler.
But it doesn’t take long for Amy to realise that while Sheldon might have a genius-level IQ, he is completely clueless when it comes to taking the next step.
