The mystery will be solved… paranormal drama Glitch will return for a new series in 2017 after a co-production deal between Netflix and ABCTV was announced over the weekend.

The original series premiered in Australia in 2015, starring Patrick Brammall, Rodger Corser, Emma Booth and Genevieve O’Rielly

ABCTV announced a second season of Glitch immediately after season one concluded, however the project never moved beyond the planning stage.

Now with additional funding secured from Netflix, filming will commence in early 2017.

Season One of Glitch has recently become available to stream on Netflix in all world markets except Australia.

ABC Head of Fiction Carole Sklan said:

“The audience response to this brilliant series has been remarkable. We are delighted to be working again with such a wonderfully creative team for this gripping second series.”

Why these people and only these people returned from the dead and how did it come about? Series two will go inside the gates of Noregard Pharmaceuticals and other mysterious places as our Glitch characters explore once again the extremes of what it means to be alive.

Glitch co-creators Tony Ayres and Louise Fox aren’t giving too much away:

“We’re all really excited to be returning to Yoorana and to be telling stories for the characters that we all love so much. We can’t wait to deliver on the promise of all those stories, keep all the thrills and spills coming and bring this drama to a satisfying conclusion.”

Glitch Season Two will premiere in Australia in mid-2017 on ABCTV, and throughout the rest of the world on Netflix.
