Amazon has released a new trailer for the highly anticipated new motoring program from Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, however Australian viewers are still yet to find out if they will have legal access to the show.
The Grand Tour, produced by Amazon Instant Video will premiere in the US and Europe on November 19, however a deal is yet to be signed with a local broadcaster or SVOD provider.
Stan holds the Australian rights for a number of Amazon titles including Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle however this is due to a distribution deal with Sony Pictures and does not include The Grand Tour or drama series Man in the High Tower. A spokesperson for Stan declined to confirm that the SVOD provider was negotiating for the series.
Amazon had been expected to launch a local version of its streaming service this year, however this has been delayed due in difficulties in securing exclusive content away from Stan and Presto.
If Amazon is unable to negotiate a local deal for its content, they may look to hold back The Grand Tour and drama series Man in the High Tower until they are ready for a local launch of the Instant Video service.
THE GRAND TOUR will feature the trio travelling to different locations around the globe, with the 'studio' segments to be filmed before a live audience in a giant tent.
The new show is being produced by former Top Gear executive producer Andy Wilman.
