With the official launch of Amazon Prime in Australia this week, questions have been asked regarding the future availability of Amazon produced series that have already been available elsewhere.

The full three series of award winning dramas Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle have already premiered in Australia on Stan. Now that Amazon has launched in Australia, the first two seasons of both programs are also available on PrimeVideo.

A spokesperson for Stan telling DeciderTV:

“Consumers won't get unfettered access to Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle on Amazon Prime, as the two shows will continue to be first run on Stan. The latest seasons (season 3) for both of these shows are not yet available to Amazon subscribers and are only on Stan at this point.”

Stan was able to secure ‘First Run’ rights for Transparent and Mozart in the Jungle well before Amazon decided on plans for world domination. In the future Amazon will maintain exclusivity for all newly created original series.
