Yogi Bear’s First Christmas (Stan, Now Available)

Stan has a page full of Christmas movies and specials, including Yogi Bear’s First Christmas. Yogi Bear comes out of hibernation in December for the first time and experiences his first Christmas. All the famous Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters join the celebration and help Yogi save Jellystone Lodge from closing. Also available are Christmas episodes of your favourite shows: Blackadder’s Christmas Carol, The Vicar of Dibley, Community, Friends and Absolutely Fabulous.

Sense8: A Christmas Special (Netflix, December 23)

The journey continues as these eight singular hearts and minds weave in and out of each other’s lives finding deeper connections, learning darker, more desperate secrets about one another and struggling to identify with more than just oneself. This weekend is the perfect time to catch up with season one of Sense8 ahead of its return in May.

Doctor Who: The Return of Doctor Mysterio (ABC iView, December 26)

For those of you who don’t want to wait until 7:30 pm to watch the first new episode of Doctor Who in a year, The Return of Doctor Mysterio will be available on iView at 6am AEDT. The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Nardole (Matt Lucas, Little Britain) spend Christmas in New York City fighting brain swapping aliens with journalist Lucy Fletcher (Charity Wakefield’s first appearance as the new companion) and superhero The Ghost (Justin Chatwin, Shameless).

Goober; Almost Midnight (ABC iView, December 26)

Two new comedy webseries, Goober and Almost Midnight will be available on iView on Boxing Day. Goober is about Harry (Brendan Williams), a too-friendly Uber driver, convinced that every passenger will be his next best friend. Harry is on the autism spectrum, and spends his days bemusing and confusing his passengers – despite the support of his dad (Shane Jacobson), always just a hands-free call away with encouragement and wisdom.

Almost Midnight is a coming of age romantic comedy, with each of the six episodes set a year apart against the backdrop of that glorious moment when boundless promise and uninhibited drunkenness combine – the final five years of New Year’s Eve. Dave (Stephen Banham) wants a fairy-tale romance, but lacks the ability to meet or, more importantly, keep the woman of his dreams.

Sleeping With Other People (Stan, December 29)

Twelve years after a one night stand, a man (Jason Sudeikis, Saturday Night Live, 30 Rock) and a woman (Alison Brie, Community) run into each other in New York and try to maintain a platonic relationship.
