A Grand Final rematch and a repeat of one of the NRL’s most dramatic encounters will headline an epic Good Friday double-header LIVE and FREE across the nation on Nine’s Wide World of Sports.
First up, James Graham will lead his Bulldogs into battle against the Rabbitohs at ANZ Stadium, where exactly one year ago he was involved in one of the most spiteful contests in recent rugby league history.
Phil Gould is fired up for the clash.
“It’s going to be a big game, this one. After spilling their lollies last week both teams will be keen to bounce back with a win.
“The Bulldogs boast the biggest pack in the league, but we know the Souths boys take a backward step to no one. Up front in the forwards is where this game will be won. I’m expecting some real fireworks,” Gould said.
Then at 7.30pm AEST it’s time for the Grand Final rematch between the Broncos and Cowboys at Suncorp Stadium.
Queensland legend and rugby league Immortal Wally Lewis says the game will live up to the hype.
“Last year’s Grand Final was a staunch reminder of how high the standard of football between these two teams can be. The Cowboys have in their corner the man that I believe is without doubt the world’s best attacking player – Johnathan Thurston.
“And the Broncos boast the toughest defensive pattern to crack and the best coach in the NRL, Wayne Bennett, guiding their game plan. This has all the makings of great match,” Lewis said.
The two games will also be broadcast nationally without ads, live in HD on Fox Sports.
