Weekend binge-watch Empire: Season 1 (May 1, Presto)

Empire follows Lucious Lyon, hip hop star and head of his own record label, Empire. When he is diagnosed with ALS, he begins to think about the future of his company, and pits his 3 sons against each other for the company. To make things worse, his ex-wife Cookie has just been released from prison, where she spent 17 years for selling drugs, the money from which was used to start Empire. Featuring music from Timbaland, Empire is full of drama and catchy music.


Special Correspondents (April 29, Netflix)

This new Netflix feature film was written and directed by Ricky Gervais and stars Eric Bana and Gervais. When a New York based radio journalist discovers that his job is on the line, he fakes front line war reports from his hideout above a Spanish restaurant in Queens.


Team Foxcatcher (April 29, Netflix)

This original Netflix documentary explores the events that took place on Foxcatcher Farm in 1996, when John E. Dupont took the life of Olympic Champion wrestler David Schultz. The murder was the subject of the 2014 feature film, and Team Foxcatcher tells us the story behind the events with first hand accounts from former teammates, coaches and family.


Lawrence Leung: Choose Your Own Adventure (April 30, Stan)

Australian comedian Lawrence Leung embarks on a journey to achieve his childhood dreams in this six-part documentary/comedy/adventure series. Leung travels between Sydney, Melbourne and Los Angeles as he learns how to be a rock star, how to be a man, how to be cool, how to be the best in the world and how to be himself. Guest stars include Australian screen legends Kerry O’Brien, Margaret Pomeranz and David Stratton, and musician Tim Rogers.


Amy Schumer: Mostly Sex Stuff (May 3, Stan)

The first season of Inside Amy Schumer is available on Stan, and Schumer’s first stand-up special filmed in 2013 is dropping this week. Nothing is off the table in this special as Schumer tells stories from her dating and sex life in her signature matter-of-fact style.
