Sky News revamps weekend lineup with Paul Murray, Peter Berner & Peter van Onselen
Weekend viewing on Sky News Live has expanded with Sky News unveiling a new programming line-up.
Popular Sky News presenter Paul Murray anchors a new breakfast program Saturday Edition with Paul Murray from 7:00am – 10:00am AEST.
Joining Paul on Saturdays is Sky News anchor Jaynie Seal with news and Sky News sports anchor Jim Callinan at the sports desk.
Paul Murray said: “The world doesn't stop spinning on the weekend, why should Sky News? The idea is a simple one, to tell you what's going on, in our own way.
We're a whole new option for people who want to stay plugged in while they are getting the kids ready for the weekend sport run."
Peter Berner will join the channel’s Saturday evening line-up anchoring a new program, The B Team.
Airing Saturdays at 9:00pm AEST on Sky News Live each week on The B Team Peter will offer his 'unique and lively take on the lighter side of the news and events making headlines'.
Peter Berner said: “The B Team will be a show about everything. I’ll be joined by smart, funny minded people and spend an hour sifting through the news of the week taking a broader look at the world that is. I’ll be honest, I need all the help I can get to try and work out what the hell is going on.”
New to Sunday mornings Peter van Onselen anchors Sunday Edition with Peter van Onselen from 7:00am – 10:00am AEST, featuring the latest news, sport and weather.
Sunday Agenda is on air with Peter and Paul Kelly from 8:30am AEST with your essential guide to the week in politics.
Peter van Onselen said: “We've got a great team. The new format continues the forensic interviewing of senior politicians with Paul Kelly, adding the opportunity to do features and talk about all the other news from the weekend with Jaynie and Greg.”
Jaynie Seal is back at the news desk on Sundays while Sky News sports anchor Greg Thomson will have all the sport news.
Sky News correspondent Jim Middleton also joins the weekend line-up as anchor of Weekend Agenda each Saturday and Sunday from 4:00pm – 6:00pm AEST.
