Thousands of children work for fishermen on the banks of Lake Volta in Ghana.

Many of them are slaves, given away by families who thought they’d get a better life, only to be trafficked into forced labour.

BBC Journalist, Yalda Hakim has recently joined a team who are travelling up Lake Volta to rescue some of the trafficked children, and try to help them rebuild their lives.

The result is an amazing Our World TV special airing this weekend.

Friday July 22nd at 9.30pm and Saturday July 23rd at 8.30am and 2.30pm on BBC World News
