Netflix has announced the cult hit series Stranger Things will return for a second series in 2017.

The new season will consist of nine episodes, one more than season one.

Stranger Things, which launched worldwide on Netflix in July with limited publicity, has quickly become one of the most talked about shows of 2016 with viewers loving the 80’s retro vibe and suspense-filled storylines.

The cast for season two is yet to be confirmed, but writers/creators Matt and Ross Duffer will return.

Stranger Things 2 will be produced by 21 Laps for Netflix. Executive Producers Shawn Levy, Dan Cohen and the Duffer Brothers will all return for the second season.
