Weekend binge-watch: Marvel’s Luke Cage: Season 1 (Netflix, September 30)

After a sabotaged experiment leaves him with super strength and unbreakable skin, Luke Cage (Mike Colter, Marvel’s Jessica Jones) becomes a fugitive trying to rebuild his life in modern day Harlem, New York City. But he is soon pulled out of the shadows and must fight a battle for the heart of his city – forcing him to confront a past he has tried to bury.

Doctor Who: Season 9 (Stan, October 1)

The next episode of Doctor Who will be the Christmas Special, so there’s plenty of time to catch up on The Doctor and Clara’s adventures. Peter Capaldi’s second season as The Doctor features guest star Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones) and sees the return of River Song (Alex Kingston, ER) in the 2015 Christmas Special.

Ash vs. Evil Dead and Blunt Talk: Season 2 Premieres (Stan, October 3)

Both Ash vs. Evil Dead and Blunt Talk return to Stan for their second seasons on Monday. In Ash vs. Evil Dead, the party is over in Jacksonville when Ash, Pablo and Kelly are summoned by Ruby back to Ash’s hometown to form an unlikely alliance. In Blunt Talk, Walter Blunt (Patrick Stewart) and his team are on top of the network ratings when Walter runs into an old flame who is in town to investigate a conspiracy theory involving one of Los Angeles’ most crucial environmental threats.

Wentworth: Season 4; An Audience with the cast of Wentworth (Presto, October 5)

As the story resumes, Bea (Danielle Cormack) and her cell-block mates are returning to Wentworth after the fire and rebuilding of H Block to find a new dynamic in play with a new contender for Top Dog. On the outside, Franky (Nicole da Silva) is trying hard to be a productive member of society. As always, no one should underestimate The Freak (Pamela Rabe). After finishing the fourth season, Presto subscribers will be able to watch the one hour special An Audience with the Cast of Wentworth. Gain insights into the actors’ favourite moments on set and learn some secrets from behind the prison walls of this Logie award winning drama.
