Anthony Mundine v Danny Green 2 - This February on Foxtel

SportMedia Release

The greatest rivalry in Australian sport will be settled once and for all when Anthony “The Man” Mundine and Danny “The Green Machine” Green square off under lights at the Adelaide Oval on February 3.

Last time they fought, more than 34,000 fans packed into the Sydney Football Stadium to see Mundine claim a unanimous points decision over Green.

Now after ten long years, “The Green Machine” has an opportunity to avenge that defeat and affirm his legacy as one of Australia’s all-time greatest fighters.

For Mundine, the bout presents an opportunity to prove once and for all he is “The Man”. Since that night in 2006, Mundine has gone up and down in weight with mixed fortune. A win over Green will not only silence his critics but also ensure he remains Australia’s undisputed king of the ring.

“The Mundine v Green fight back in 2006 still remains our highest selling sports pay-per-view event of all time,” said Brian Walsh, Foxtel’s Executive Director Of Television. “The Adelaide re-match is the final showdown and we are thrilled to be able to bring our sporting fans a ringside seat to the highly anticipated rematch with live and exclusive coverage on Foxtel and in selected venues throughout Australia. This is one event not to be missed,” he said.

QLD Reds and Wallabies superstar Quade Cooper will join exciting middleweight prospect Tim Tszyu (son of former boxer Kostya Tszyu) in headlining a blockbuster undercard (opponents to be announced).  Cooper will return to the ring for his third professional bout while Tszyu will enter the ring for only the second time in his professional career.

To add further star power to the fight, Jessica Mauboy will perform the national anthem, American ring announcer Michael Buffer who is famous for his catch phrase “Let’s get ready to rumble” will be down under to announce the fights and FOX FOOTY’s Gerard Whateley will be calling the main card fight.

Mundine v Green 2 undercards are simulcast LIVE from 6pm - 7pm AEDT on FOX SPORTS 506 and MAIN EVENT then exclusively on MAIN EVENT from 7pm AEDT.

Mundine v Green 2 will be hosted by Foxtel’s Eddie McGuire and executive produced by Steve Crawley for FOX SPORTS and Foxtel.
