Global superstar Ed Sheeran is in the country and will be the special guest live in the studio on Monday night’s edition of The Project.
Ed will be joining The Project for an Australian television first, the first ever performance of his smash hit single, Castle On The Hill.
Fans have lapped up Ed’s new singles, Shape Of You and Castle On The Hill, which mark a hugely exciting return to the airwaves. Both tracks have broken records for most day one streams and globally have streamed 192 million and 105 million respectively. Ed’s new tracks have also occupied the top two positions on the UK singles chart and the ARIA singles chart for the past three weeks.
Ed’s career has gone from strength to strength since the release of his 2011 debut album +, followed by the equally successful release, x, in 2014. Both albums have sold more than 22 million copies worldwide.
The multi-award winning artist will release his new album, ÷, on 3 March and it is destined to become one of the most significant album releases of 2017.
The Project host Carrie Bickmore said:
“It’s the first time in the show’s history that we’ve invited an artist to perform live and who better than the biggest star on the planet, Ed Sheeran. I’ve always been a huge fan and I can’t wait to catch up with him again on Monday night.”
