Stan has today announced it will continue to upgrade the experience for its subscribers with the addition of downloadable content, and the introduction of 4K.
From March, Stan subscribers will be able to download available shows and movies via the app on both iOS and Android devices.
The move will allow users to watch their shows without needing to rely on an Internet connection.
It’s a feature that that has already launched on Netflix, and will soon become available to Foxtel Go users.
The vast majority of Stan’s catalogue will be available to watch offline, including every season of Sherlock, Twin Peaks, Jim Carrey’s upcoming new comedy-drama I’m Dying Up Here, as well as Billions starring Damian Lewis and Paul Giamatti.
Award-winning series like Better Call Saul, Breaking Bad, Mozart In The Jungle and Transparent will also be available to download.
The good news continues with Stan confirming from April, subscribers accessing content via the Playstation Pro or 2015 and 2016 model Samsung and LG TVs will have the option of viewing content in UHD 4K.
Fan favourites including Better Call Saul will premiere exclusively in 4K for a whole new viewing experience on the big screen. And, for the first time ever in Australia, every episode of Breaking Bad can be watched, crystal clear, in UHD 4K.
Other shows being made available in UHD 4K on Stan in 2017 will be every episode of Wolf Creek, No Activity,Preacher, Mad Dogs, Transparent, Mozart In The Jungle, The Girlfriend Experience and Power.
