One of Neighbours’ most popular dynasties, the Rebecchis, will expand as five new family members join the clan and arrive on Ramsay Street.
Nicholas Coghlan will reprise his role of Shane Rebecchi, the older brother of fan favourite Jarrod “Toadfish” Rebecchi (Ryan Moloney).
Shane is joined by wife Dipi (Sharon Johal), daughters Yashvi (Olivia Junkeer) and Kirsha (Vani Dhir) and sister-in-law Mishti (Scarlet Vas).
The Rebecchi family have been a critical part of Neighbours storylines for over two decades. Led by Angie (Lesley Baker) and Big Kev (Don Bridges), this larger-than-life family have been pivotal in some of the most memorable moments in the show’s 32-year history.
Originally played by Greg O’Meara, Shane had his first stint on Ramsay Street in 1995. This young rogue was convicted of a number of local robberies and shipped off to prison, followed soon after by a prison escape.
Now older and wiser, Shane returns to his old stomping ground with only his mysterious sister-in-law, Mishti, in tow. Their arrival in Erinsborough centres around a dark secret that the pair are hiding from the rest of their family.
Neighbours Executive Producer, Jason Herbison, said: “Shane Rebecchi is one of the great untapped characters from Neighbours history. I’m delighted to welcome him back to Ramsay Street along with his beautiful wife, two children and sister-in-law. It is a great new chapter for the Rebecchi family.”
The Rebecchi family will appear on screen from Monday, 17 April at 6.30pm on ELEVEN.
