In the lead up to the WA Election, a special edition of Paul Murray LIVE will broadcast LIVE from Perth for the first time on Wednesday March 8.

Paul Murray will anchor his two-hour program LIVE from The Ashby Bar & Bistro, Ashby hearing from voters in the bellwether seat of Wanneroo on what the big election issues are and what matters to them.

Members of the public are encouraged to be part of the LIVE audience by registering their attendance at [email protected]

Paul Murray said: “For once, it’s all about WA. For too long we get distracted by the news from Sydney or Canberra. But now it’s WA’s turn to take the spotlight. I want to hear from fired up people who are passionate about Perth and love WA.
I want to know if they want to change the government, or politics as a whole with forces like One Nation. We had a record crowd for our show on the Sunshine Coast, so come on Perth let’s set a new record.”

On Thursday March 9, Paul Murray LIVE will also broadcast from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Perth at 6:00pm AWST / 9:00pm AEDT, just ahead of the People’s Forum.

SKY NEWS, in partnership with The West Australian, will host a People’s Forum with Opposition Leader Mark McGowan on Thursday March 9 to find out what West Australians are really thinking in the run up to the WA Election.

Premier Colin Barnett was invited to participate in the People’s Forum however he declined the opportunity.

The forum will be held at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Perth, where Mr McGowan will take questions from undecided voters chosen by Galaxy polling.

SKY NEWS Political Editor David Speers will moderate the one-hour LIVE forum from 7:00pm AWST / 10:00pm AEDT on SKY NEWS LIVE.

David said: “A forum like this provides a unique opportunity to hear how a leader performs off-script and away from the topics journalists are usually focused on.  Voters often have very different priorities and ask some fascinating questions.  How a leader handles this situation can be a good guide on how well connected they really are to the people.”

As West Australians have their say on election day Saturday March 11, SKY NEWS will have rolling coverage and analysis from 6:00pm AWST / 9:00pm AEDT.

David Speers will anchor coverage from the SKY NEWS Centre joined by SKY NEWS anchor Peter van Onselen, former state director of the WA Liberal Party and now Federal Liberal MP Ben Morton and former Labor Minister Gary Gray.

From the SKY NEWS studio in Perth Ashleigh Gillon will host a panel of special guests as they analyse the results as they come to hand.
