In an Australian television first, Foxtel Movies presents ten movies in the iconic Alien and Predator franchises on a dedicated pop-up channel, available to Foxtel Movies and Foxtel Platinum subscribers, from 6.00am on Friday, May 12 through to Monday, May 15.
The non-stop movie marathon will feature an incredible line-up of films in both smash-hit series, as the deadliest creatures from the scariest sci-fi movies on the planet face-off over four days, launching with the first Alien movie, through to Predator, AVP: Aliens vs. Predator and the most recent film Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem.
The iconic Alien film, directed by Ridley Scott, received worldwide critical acclaim and huge box office success upon its release. Starring Sigourney Weaver in her career-defining role as Ripley, the film depicts an extra-terrestrial creature that stalks and kills the crew of a spaceship.
Science fiction hit Predator stars Arnold Schwarzenegger as the leader of an elite Special Forces team on a mission to rescue hostages from guerrilla territory in Central America, while a technologically advanced form of extra-terrestrial life is secretly hunting the group.
The success of both the Alien and Predator films spawned a series of sequels, before the crossover produced the hugely popular Alien vs Predator series.
The Alien vs Predator pop-up channel follows on from Foxtel Movies’ hugely successful series of pop-up channels, including the Star Wars, Harry Potter, Fast and Furious, X-Men and Arnie pop-ups.
The ten movies featured on the Alien vs Predator pop-up, running back-to-back and in order, are as follows:
