Exclusive - Filming has commenced on Network Ten’s entertainment series Australian Survivor and DeciderTV can reveal the identities of the first four contestants.
Season two will see host Jonathan LaPaglia and 24 fresh contestants head to the stunning tropical paradise of Samoa. The same location as used by TEN last season.
This year’s contestants include a former special operations commander, an endurance athlete, a doctor, an adventure guide, and a plumber are just some of the contestants selected from over 20,000 applicants.
And while TEN is keen not reveal any details about the new series, DeciderTV has learned the names of some contestants involved.
BEWARE: SPOILERS BELOW!
One contestant who will be tough to beat is former Olympian Nicola Zagame. The 26-year-old from Sydney won a Bronze medal as part of Australia’s Water Polo team at the 2012 London Olympics.
Nicola also has a background in art and is "intrigued by the animal-like qualities often found in people, both in physical appearance and personality."
Another contestant, Jacqui Patterson, is a marriage celebrant with a difference from Byron Bay. Jacqui describes herself as “always upbeat, high energy, entertaining, quick witted and ready to make people laugh so hard they cry.”
It will be interesting to see if Jacqui’s background as a trapeze artist will assist her during Survivor’s physical challenges which often require a high level of fitness and balance.
Music and Adventure Photographer Jarrad Seng will be another contestant to keep a close eye on. Jarrad has travelled the world to capture amazing images. He's hung out of open plane windows to shoot aerial landscapes in Iceland, and captured portraits of Maasai children in remote Tanzania
In 2013 Jarrad was selected as a finalist for the West Australian Young Person of the Year.
A contestant that will definitely turn heads is international fashion model and prominent social media personality Sarah Tilleke. Sarah has been travelling the world as a highly successful model since the age of 17. Sarah describes herself as “highly creative and strongly motivated.”
Interesting Sarah already has experience with reality television having been a finalist on Foxtel series The Face in 2014.
An international poker player by the name of Adam Parkin is also expected to be a strong contestant with his ability to keep a straight face.
Who will have what it takes to win the world’s greatest game? Over 55 days, they must outwit, outlast and outplay each other to become the sole Survivor.
Australian Survivor is currently in production, and will return to television screens later this year on TEN and WIN.
