There was a tense moment on Nine’s Melbourne 4pm News bulletin, when a live cross from journalist Tim Arvier in South Korea was interrupted and shut down by Military officials.

The Nine crew had spent the day traveling through the demilitarised zone, before presenting the live report from the South Korean coast line, with North Korea visible in the background, when soliders made the move to shut down the broadcast.

Arvier and his camera operator did their best to stay on air during the interruption, but made the decision to stop after a hand was placed over the camera lens.

Arvier described the shutdown as “somewhat unexpected,” telling DeciderTV, the news team was held up for an extended period but, “after a lot of debate, conducted mostly in Korean, we are on our way”
