Gaga: Five Foot Two (Netflix, September 22)

In this Netflix original documentary, Lady Gaga offers a vulnerable look at her life during one of the most pivotal periods in her career so far. Directed by Emmy-nominated filmmaker Chris Moukarbel (Banksy Does New York), this documentary is shot in the style of cinema verité, giving viewers unfiltered, behind-the-scenes access as Gaga spends time with close friends and family members, records and releases her 2016 album Joanne and deals with personal struggles.

Transparent: Season 4 (Stan, September 23)

The Pfeffermans are back in the fourth season of this 8-time Emmy winning and 2-time Golden Globe winning series. In Season 4, Maura (Jeffrey Tambor) and her family head to Israel on a spiritual and political journey as they dig deeper into their family’s history, and ultimately set off on their own paths to find acceptance, love, and truth.

The Powerpuff Girls (2016): Season 2, Episodes 22-26 (Stan, September 24)

There’s a new Powerpuff Girl (voiced in Australia and New Zealand by YouTuber Wengie) in Townsville in this new five-part movie event titled “The Power of Four.” The Powerpuff Girls’ lives as superheroes are turned upside-down, and all four of them must work together and use their strengths and smarts to save their beloved city of Townsville.

Star Trek: Discovery – Series Premiere (Netflix, September 25)

Star Trek is back, and CBS is keeping a tight lid on new episodes, so we don’t know what to expect. The iconic franchise returns with a fresh new series starring Sonequa Martin, Michelle Yeoh, Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp on a new ship. Their mission, should they choose to accept it, is to explore new worlds and bring hope to a new generation.

Terrace House: Aloha State: Part 4 (Netflix, September 26)

This is the final batch of episodes for Terrace House: Aloha State after it was extended for an extra 12 episodes. When we last saw our favourite housemates, Guy and Niki had just kissed, which made for a great cliffhanger. In the last 12 episodes, we’ll get to see if their relationship progresses, and hope that Taishi becomes less annoying (although I’m not holding my breath). There’s no news yet about a fourth season of this charming reality show, but there’s always time for a rewatch.

Cromo (SBS OnDemand, September 28)

This Argentinian series based on true events follows Diego and Simon, research scientists investigating the murder of Diego’s wife, Valentina, while she was investigating an environmental disaster in Corrientes.
