Australian News Channel (ANC) and the WIN Network (WIN) today announced a program supply agreement to broadcast Sky News content across WIN’s regional free-to-air television network on a dedicated channel.
For the first time, more Australians will have the chance to watch select Sky News content spanning news, sport, weather and public affairs programming on a new free-to-air television channel “Sky News on WIN.”
“Sky News on WIN” will launch later this year on channel 83 across WIN’s regional network and channel 53 across Northern NSW.
The new channel will broadcast into 29 markets across six states via the WIN Network including regional areas of Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia, and state-wide across Tasmania and the Australian Capital Territory.
The bespoke free-to-air news channel will feature a mix of LIVE and time-shifted Sky News program highlights. Further announcements will be made regarding the program line-up on “Sky News on WIN.”
In addition, Sky News will have access to Australia’s largest regional news operation with the ability to broadcast local WIN News content on its premium news channels on Foxtel. WIN News will also have access to Sky News national affairs content when relevant for its dedicated local news bulletins.
“Sky News on WIN” will give viewers a taste of the premium suite of channels which will continue to be available exclusively on national subscription television provider Foxtel.
Only on Foxtel will viewers be able to access five LIVE 24/7 Sky News and FOX SPORTS News channels featuring award-winning news and national affairs programs, also available via its streaming service Foxtel Now and to watch on the go, via tablets and smartphones, with the Foxtel app.
Angelos Frangopoulos, CEO Australian News Channel said: “The content supply agreement with the WIN Network is an historic moment for our company providing, for the first time, the opportunity to showcase the depth and breadth of the news, sports news, weather news and public affairs content available on our premium Sky News channels on Foxtel to even more Australians. Sky News will also deliver unique content to Australians in regional areas. We look forward to announcing that in coming weeks.”
Andrew Lancaster, CEO WIN Network said: “WIN is proud of its position as Australia’s most prolific producer of quality regional news content and this new agreement with ANC will allow WIN to strengthen its commitment to informing regional Australians. As well as producing 16 dedicated local news bulletins, WIN is now giving regional Australians the complete local, national and international news, sport and current affairs stories across their day.”
