Atypical is a coming of age story that follows Sam (Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autism spectrum as he searches for love and independence. In season 2, Elsa (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Doug (Michael Rapaport) face the aftermath of their marriage crisis and Casey (Brigette Lundy-Paine) tries to adjust to her new school, while Sam prepares for life after graduation.

Set in the 1980s, Pose is a dance musical that explores the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York: the ball culture world, the rise of the luxury Trump-era universe and the downtown social and literary scene. Created by Ryan Murphy (Glee), Brad Falchuk (Glee) and Steven Canals, Pose features the largest cast of transgender actors in regular roles, as well as the largest recurring cast of LGBT actors ever for a scripted series.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Purge: Episode 2 (Amazon Prime Video, September 12)

Based on the hit movie franchise from Blumhouse Productions, The Purge revolves around a 12-hour period when all crime, including murder, is legal. Set in an altered America ruled by a totalitarian political party, The Purge follows several seemingly unrelated characters living in a small city. As the clock winds down, each character is forced to reckon with their past as they discover how far they’ll go to survive the night.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Lawyer: Season 1 (SBS On Demand, September 13)

Frank Nordling (Alexander Karim) is a young and exceptionally promising defence lawyer. When Frank learns the truth behind his adoptive parents’ death, his whole world unravels. As children, Frank and his sister Sara (Malin Buska) witnessed their parents die in an explosion. As an adult, Frank finds out they were murdered by one of the leaders in Copenhagen’s criminal underworld, Thomas Waldman (Thomas Bo Larsen).
