Multi-talented (really?) Darren McMullen, host of Nine Network’s The Voice, is the latest star to join the impressive cast of House Husbands in 2014.

Scottish-born McMullen has established himself as one of Australia’s favourite personalities since he began hosting The Voice in 2012. On House Husband she will play a love interest who ruffles feathers in the Logie Award-winning series.

McMullen’s role in House Husbands will add to an impressive list of credentials which include writer, producer, entertainment journalist, and host of hit television series for NBC in America, ITV and BBC1 in the UK, MTV, as well as Channels Nine and Seven in Australia. Most recently he hosted his own worldwide “docu-tainment” series for National Geographic, Darren McMullen’s Outsiders

“Acting has always been a big passion of mine. For many years it had to take a back seat when my presenting roles took off around the world. I promised myself at the end of last year that I was going to focus more energy on pursuing interesting roles to sink my teeth into,” McMullen said.

“I’m excited to be able to play such a meaty role on House Husbands and to be able to work alongside such an esteemed cast in an award-winning drama. I can’t wait to show people another side to me.”

McMullen will be joining two recently announced cast members – internationally acclaimed actor Rachel Griffiths and local favourite Lincoln Lewis – for the third season of House Husbands.

House Husbands series three will go to air on the Nine Network later this year.
