Foe is a science fiction thriller film directed by Garth Davis and written by Davis and Abi Morgan. It is based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Iain Reid. The film stars Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal, and Aaron Pierre.

Storyline:

Set in the near future, Foe follows the story of Junior (Mescal) and Hen (Ronan), a married couple who live on a secluded farm. Their quiet life is disrupted when a stranger named Terrance (Pierre) arrives at their door with a startling proposal. He offers Junior a chance to go on a two-year mission to a space station orbiting Earth. However, Junior will have to leave Hen behind with a robotic version of himself.

Junior is initially hesitant to accept the offer, but he is eventually persuaded by the prospect of a better life for himself and Hen. He leaves for the space station, leaving Hen behind with the robot.

At first, Hen is happy to have the robot version of Junior around. However, she soon begins to realize that the robot is not a replacement for her real husband. She starts to feel isolated and alone, and she begins to question her relationship with Junior.

Meanwhile, Junior is struggling to adjust to life on the space station. He misses Hen and their life on the farm. He also begins to suspect that Terrance is not telling him the whole truth about the mission.

As the film progresses, Junior and Hen’s lives become increasingly intertwined. They both have to face difficult choices about their future and their relationship.
