The Games: All Seasons (ABC iView, Available Now)

Celebrate John Clarke by watching one of Australia’s best television comedies. Follow John, Brian and Gina in this mockumentary as they deal with the minutiae of putting together the Sydney Olympics, including the length of the 100-metre track, a team building retreat and coordinating with the Minister’s secretary.

Dear White People: Season 1 (Netflix, April 28)

A sequel to the critically acclaimed film, Dear White People satirises “post-racial” America after a group of students at Winchester University throws a blackface party. Students of colour from Armstrong-Parker House navigate this predominantly white college as they try to convince the administration to address issues of race on campus.

American Gods: Season 1, Episode 1 (Amazon Video, May 1)

It’s my birthday and Amazon is gifting everyone outside the United States with fast-tracked episodes of American Gods. Based on the award-winning novel by Neil Gaiman, American Gods stars Ricky Whittle (The 100) as Shadow Moon, Ian McShane (Deadwood) as Mr. Wednesday, and Australia’s Emily Browning as Shadow’s wife, Laura Moon. When Shadow Moon is released from prison, he meets the mysterious Mr. Wednesday and a storm begins to brew – a storm that will change the course of his entire life.

Left adrift by the recent death of his wife, and hired as Mr. Wednesday’s bodyguard, Shadow finds himself in the centre of a world that he struggles to understand – where magic is real, and where the Old Gods fear both irrelevance and the growing power of the New Gods.

Eagle Vs Shark (Stan, May 3)

This offbeat comedy from Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, Thor: Ragnarok) that chronicles the quirky romance of two awkward misfits, Lily (Loren Horsley) and her crush, Jarrod (Jemaine Clement).
